A cheap nickel-based superalloy called Inconel 718 (IN718) is largely employed as a turbine disk material. The composition contains trace amounts of molybdenum, titanium, cobalt, aluminum, manganese, copper, silicon, and other elements. It contains roughly 50–55% nickel, 17–21% chromium, 4.75–5.5% niobium, and tantalum. Moreover, the material has strong oxidation and corrosion resistance, excellent heat resistance up to 700°C, and outstanding strength, high yield, tensile, and creep rupture qualities.
